Emily, what is a Creative Project Manager?

A Creative Project Manager with Emily Pope Creative Consulting (EPCC) designs schedules and project tracking models based on project management methodologies to influence project members to produce the best possible production possible with the most effective use of company assets possible.

The work done may fall under a range of industry titles, but mostly occurs during pre-production, pre-show, and/or pre-event planning. This may look like:

• Monitoring production scope and schedule throughout the project lifecycle

• Preparing for and providing guidance for production risks and obstacles

• Monitoring production budget

• Hiring below-the-line cast and crew

• Ensure satisfaction of production stakeholders (senior creative team, investors, target audiences, and more)

• Monitor legal compliance with labor laws and creative production laws (location agreements, union agreements, etc)

• Evaluate production success after the post-production completion
